Dubai International Airport (Arrival and departure)
Upon landing at Dubai International Airport (DXB), you’re likely to be quite tired and looking to pick up your car rental as soon as possible, with little fuss. Ranked in the top 10 busiest airports in the world and located just 4.6 km east of Dubai central, this incredible transport hub is crucial to the Middle East in terms of passenger numbers and also cargo. Emirates, British Airways, Singapore Airlines and Virgin are just four of the major airlines that fly in and out, while the facilities are outstanding. Zen Gardens, a swimming pool, 26,000sqm of retail space for shopping and Snoozecubes (enjoy a nap while between flights) are all here for you.
There are three passenger terminals, linked by a transit area, with all the major airlines serviced. The car rental kiosks are located in the arrivals sections of all three terminals, with more than a dozen depots. The airport itself is spread over a massive 8500 acres of land, with an array of shops and duty free outlets, and is a ten-minute drive into the city centre.
Picking up your rental car
The main passenger Terminals are 1 and 2 (2 is more domestic focused), while Emirates and Qantas operate from Terminal 3. The likes of Avis, Budget and Thrifty are located at Terminals 1 and 2. Europcar and Hertz can be found at Terminal 1 Arrivals. But remember, whether you’re collecting your Dubai rental car from an on-site depot or require transport, Airport Rentals has it all covered. Sometimes you can save money if you catch a brief shuttle or bus to the off-site depot. Book your Dubai car rentals from any one of the terminals below:

Driving tips for Dubai
If you haven’t driven in the Middle East before, here are some things you should know:
● It’s an incredibly busy place, with fast and large roads. Stay calm, watch your speed and use your mirrors regularly.
● Be aware that you may see the odd camel strolling along. Concentrate at all times behind the wheel.
● Know where you are going. Pre-planning your route or using a GPS is well worth it.
● The cars are left-hand drive and drive on the right.
● Pedestrians have right of way on zebra crossings, which are known as pedestrian crossings in Dubai.
● The Salik toll system has been in place for a number of years. Speak to your car hire company for clear instructions on how and when to pay.
● The heat is a factor in the Middle East. If you are travelling extensively, always have plenty of water on hand.
Parking options at the Airport and in Dubai
Choose from short-term and long-term parking for all three Dubai International Airport terminals. Terminal 1 and 3 charge AED 10 and an additional AED 5 per every half hour. Use Car Park B in T1 for cheaper all day rates at AED 100 or park in either lots at Terminal 2 for the cheapest rates at the airport, all within walking distance.
Find parking garages and metered on-street spaces across the busy city. Metered spots are enforced from 8am to 10pm Saturday to Thursday. Fridays and public holidays are free parking days. Use the ‘pay-to-park’ system which accepts coins, or download the RTA Dubai App to make payments and find nearby spaces.
